Looks, Feels, Sounds...

1

Looks

Our classroom looks like an open and organized space where calm lighting is used, flexible seating is provided as a tool, and separate and defined spaces are visible. Inclusion is valued in our room with table seating and the representations of various cultures, ethnicities, and religions through diverse book selections, posters, calendar holidays, and more. It is a place where learning is visible, equality is present, and happiness is expressed.

2

Feels

Our classroom feels like a second home to my students. It is a place of comfort, respect, positivity, and inclusion. My students feel a sense of belonging in the classroom community. Our learning environment feels like a safe place where students are welcomed and cherished. It feels like a fun, secure, and accepting place to ask questions, share your thoughts, and be yourself.

3

Sounds

Our classroom sounds like a mix of inside voices, students laughing, pens and pencils moving, pages turning, and conversations occurring. Kindness, positive words, manners, questions, and advice fill our learning space. It sounds like a place full of talking, learning, laughter, and curiosity.
